Stair
Tógadh Scoil Náisiúnta Inis Chléire sa bhliain 1897. Fear darbh ainm dó Dáibhís ón Ráth, i nDún na Séád an tógalaí a bhí i mbun na hoibre sin. Ní raibh i foirgneamh na scoile an uair sin ach dhá seomra scoile. Nuair a osclaíodh an scoil i mí Lúnasa 1897 bhí tuairim is 180 páiste ar na rollaí 88 buachaill a bhí ann. Bhí na buachaillí sa seomra thiar agus na cailíní sa seomra thoir. B’shin mar a bhí go 1930. Amuigh sa chlós dob é an scéal céanna é, buachaillí sa chlós thiar, cailíní sa chlós thoir. Bhí falla árd idir na dhá chlós. Deirtear linn go raibh sé ró árd chun féachaint thairis isteach sa chlós eile.
Dár ndóidh bhíodh gach éinne ag siúl ar scoil ó gach árd den oiléan agus bhíodh na páistí cosnochta leis, go háirithe sa samhradh.
Sa bhliain 1910 méadaíodh an scoil. Cuireadh deich troigh le dhá thaobh na scoile agus tógadh an dhá halla freisin. Tadhg Ó Drisceoil , Gort na Lobhar a rinne an tógáil seo.
Cuireadh díon nua ar an scoil sa bhliain 1960. Ní raibh aon uisce reatha sa scoil go dtí an bliain sin, mar sin leithrisí tirime a bhí ann roimhe sin. Go dtí 1988 bhí na leithrisí thuas san áit ina bhfuil an stór anois. Sa bhliain 1988 tógadh dhá chlós nua agus ag an am gcéanna aistríodh na leithrisí go dtí an laistigh.
Thar na blianta, cuireadh urláir nua sna seomraí agus íslíodh na síleaíl sa dhá sheomra ranga.

History
Scoil Náisúnta Inis Chléire was built in 1897. The builder was a man named Davis from Rath, in Baltimore. The school building at that time had only two school rooms. When the school opened in August 1897 there were about 180 children on the roll, 88 of which were boys. The boys were in the west room and the girls in the eastern room. That was how it was until 1930. In the yard it was the same story, boys in the western yard and girls on the eastern side. It is said that the wall was too high to look over into the other yard.
Of course everyone walked to school from every part of the island and the children were barefoot, especially in the summer.
In 1910 the school was enlarged. Ten feet were added to both sides of the school and the two halls were also built. This construction was carried out by Tadhg Ó Drisceoil, Gort na Lobhar.
The school was re-roofed in 1960. The school had no running water until that year, so it was previously a dry toilet. Until 1988 the toilets were in the place where the store is now. In 1988 two new yards were built and at the same time the toilets were relocated to the interior.
Over the years, the floors in the classrooms have been replaced and the ceilings in both classrooms have been lowered.
